A store the owner runs alone, invoices included
METANOIRE is a brand for melodic techno freaks, invented by a friend of mine from uni. Lena Dombek did the branding for him, and I got the website, with a free hand to design and implement it. The only requirement was a fully working e-commerce site. Code that touches payments has to be bulletproof, so I used Stripe and don’t touch anything payment-related myself.
This is where I learned how to build a proper backend. My friend needed more than a shop: he also needed a place to manage the products and edit the texts. I went with Sanity.io, a pretty nice tool, and set up an admin panel where he can add, delete and prepare products and track the sales.
There are a few sweet secrets under the hood: email automations, an API connection to the invoicing software he already uses (Fakturownia), and product and code decisions like translating the site into English and Polish and handling shipping across Europe.
